AcademicsSwitzerland: the safest place to be this summer

Forbes Magazine recently released the results of an extensive COVID-19 regional safety assessment conducted by the Deep Knowledge Group. Switzerland came out on top of the list of 200 regions and territories as the safest country in the world right now in terms of COVID-19 infection. That is great news for our students returning to campus in July!

The study explains how Switzerland’s quick and efficient response to quite significant volumes of infection spread has allowed them to start relaxing lockdown measures and reinitiate economic activity. Since the onset of the COVID-19 global pandemic, all five schools under the umbrella of Swiss Education Group have also acted quickly to respond to this unprecedented situation, adapt accordingly, and ensure the safety and well-being of all staff and students.

Switzerland tops the list of safest countries in the world for COVID-19.

Swiss Education Group campuses are reopening

Our schools are very excited to be able to start welcoming students back in July.

César Ritz Colleges Switzerland and Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland will be delivering all their programmes from the campuses in Le Bouveret and Brig, while the Lucerne campus undergoes renovation.

“This will provide students from the Lucerne campus a unique opportunity to discover the French-speaking part of Switzerland over the summer, while the well-being, safety, and overall learning experience of our student community remain our top priority”, shares Max Behesht Academic Dean of the Lucerne campus.

Tanja Florenthal, Academic Director at the Le Bouveret campus adds, “We are looking forward to welcoming the Lucerne students and spending the summer getting to know other. It will be a great experience to see another campus and meet new friends!”

The HIM Hotel Institute Montreux campus will also be fully operational for the July term. “After a successful spring term delivered online, we are very much looking forward to welcoming our students back next month. Our students will not only be able to participate in all of our practical classes and sessions, including masterclasses and guest lectures, but also enjoy the multiple activities that the beautiful region of Montreux has to offer”, explains HIM Hotel Institute Montreux Academic Director, Ulrika Björklund.

SHMS Swiss Hotel Management School and IHTTI School of Hotel Management are in full preparation to welcome returning students in September. Academic Director Jeroen Greven adds, “Intake for new students has been postponed by a month to allow as many students possible to be able to join.”

Online learning will remain an option for any students unable to return to Switzerland.

Students’ health and safety remain a top priority

Needless to say, as long as COVID-19 is not fully eliminated, our schools will continue to apply all necessary measures to ensure the health and safety of students and staff. The resident management teams on these campuses will be available 24/7 as usual. Where possible we will ensure that a maximum number of single rooms are available for reservation on all campuses.
