Corporate NewsSwiss Education Group welcomes a new CEO
Earlier this month, Swiss Education Group CEO Mr Florent Rondez passed the baton of leadership to Mr Yong Shen, after 20 years of dedicated commitment to building up a dynamic network of internationally recognized schools.
Yong Shen brings over 20 years of global business management experience to Swiss Education Group, having worked in the US, Europe, Asia (Japan, Malaysia and China) in several industries. He joined Swiss Education Group in September 2019, as Deputy CEO. Today he would like to share his passion and vision for Swiss Education Group.
I am very honoured to have been appointed as CEO at Swiss Education Group (SEG). I believe that as an education enterprise, our purpose is to deliver high quality education and experiences that transform lives. I do not take the responsibility that comes with such a meaningful and noble purpose lightly.
What has made SEG schools stand out is our faculty teams and professional support staff who have brought the Swiss tradition of excellence to life in their interactions with our students. Our global networks of student families, alumni, and industry partners are also what have also made SEG a very special community. As we look to the future, more than ever, we will need to focus on innovation in our curricular development in collaboration with industry partners, continuous improvement in our value propositions to students, and agility in our ways of working. We must ensure that what we have to offer stays highly relevant today, and more importantly, for the future.
I am truly energized by the tremendous opportunities we have to grow SEG here in Switzerland and around the world. I am confident that, as Swiss Education Group becomes increasingly more student-focused, insight-driven, and global in our outlook and approach, we will continue to build our reputation as a leading player in the global hospitality education sector.
Born in Shanghai, China, Mr Yong Shen completed his high school and college education in the United States. He studied economics at Earlham College where he graduated with honours and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Society. He later studied International Finance at the University of Amsterdam and obtained his EMBA from London Business School while working at Royal Dutch Shell Group. His career history to date covers a number of sectors including financial markets, oil and gas, real estate, retail, and now hospitality education. He has lived in New York, Hong Kong, Amsterdam, Tokyo, London, Kuala Lumpur, and Beijing. Mr Shen is an avid reader of history and enjoys classical music. His family lives in Oxford, UK.
